Do you want straighter teeth? Clear aligners are a popular approach to moving your teeth using transparent plastic orthodontic appliances. Find out if clear aligners are right for you.

Clear Aligners in Lake Mary

At SofTouch Dental, we are proud to offer clear aligners to our orthodontic patients. Clear aligners provide all the benefits of traditional braces treatment without the unattractive metal brackets and wires. If you’re looking for clear aligners in Lake Mary, call our office to schedule a consultation today.

Like traditional braces, clear aligners are an orthodontic treatment that can be used to treat a variety of orthodontic issues including crowded or gapped teeth, underbites or overbites and more. They can also treat TMJ and other jaw issues as prescribed by our dentist. Clear aligners are a more comfortable and discreet alternative to traditional braces. Clear aligners are a series of removable transparent plastic trays and use gentle, consistent pressure to move your teeth into a healthier alignment. These aligner trays will give you the straighter teeth you want without cumbersome and unsightly metal braces.

To begin your clear aligner treatment, call our office to schedule a consultation. Our dentist will give you a thorough dental examination with images. With this, our dentist will design a personalized treatment plan to guide your teeth into realignment. The goal of realignment is to fix your bite and ensure your teeth meet naturally and comfortably.

A lab will create a series of aligner trays that you will wear to apply the gentle, consistent pressure necessary to shift your teeth into the desired position.

Each set of aligners will be worn for up to two weeks. Aligner trays should be worn 22 hours a day, or as prescribed by our dentist. The total number of trays required will vary based on your needs. Once you complete your treatment, you will receive a retainer to maintain your beautiful new smile.

What are the benefits of clear aligners?

Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners are removable. You can take them out to eat and brush and floss your teeth, as well as during social functions.

How long will clear aligner treatment take?

Depending on your needs and the position of your teeth, clear aligner treatment can take approximately two to three years to shift your teeth into the desired position.

Will I still have to go to orthodontic checkups?

Yes. While you don’t need to worry about tightening wires as with traditional braces, you will need to see your dentist every six-to-ten weeks. Regular orthodontic checkups will ensure your teeth are shifting as planned.
